So I'm really a candid photographer at heart, although often disguised as a portrait photographer. ; )
This weekend, I got to shoot an anniversary party and absolutely loved it. Oh how it felt so natural and fun. Don't get me wrong, I do like sneaking in some portraits amongst the action, but the candids are where my passion is.
Heck, I try to control life enough as it is. Letting things happen naturally is so much more fun...and more meaningful, too.
One of my favorite shots from the James family session is this one, which happens to be one of my very favorite families. I didn't know if Kir would like it because neither of the kids are really looking or smiling pretty. But there is just something about it that is undeniable...a moment that just happened on its own, and yet also captures this special, special family so well.
She loves it, and I do too.
Lord, help me trust the eyes, instincts, and passions you've given me, and not need to be anything other than who you created me to be. <3
