At the corner of Blessing

At the corner of Blessing and Blessing, there is a For Rent sign.

Close friends recently learned they had 30 days before losing their current job. Any potential transfer options are over a thousand of miles away at least. They have a toddler and a baby on the way, not necessarily a convenient time to move away from their family, community, and church.

On the same day they heard the news, our community group of gals met. As she shared what could feel like sickening, devastating news, my friend was excited about the opportunity God had for them.
I was amazed at her response.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord,
'plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.'
" Jeremiah 29:11

God has a big, ultimate plan. As I've been reading the Old Testament, I know that's true. I look at all these guys that were just human, scared, messed up people like us that God used for good like Moses, Joseph and Jacob to name a few. Through the line of Joseph and Jacob would come God's only Son to offer us grace enough to cover every thing we've ever done and will ever do. I like that plan.
"From the fullness of his grace
we have all received one blessing after another.
" John 1:16

The past few days have been somewhat stressful for my friends in all of what is to occur. But I remember that initial reaction so clearly, when she spoke solely from her heart...where no details, to-dos, and what ifs had entered.

I believe she was renting the corner of Blessing and Blessing.
It is a beautiful place.
There is one in my neighborhood...and I believe there is one in yours too if you choose to go there.

At the corner of Blessing and Blessing, there is a For Rent sign.
